Waking Up With 5 Miles

Up bright and early this morning for a run. I don’t love getting up at 6 to work out but I love being home by 7 and having finished my work out before most people are even awake for the day.

I’ve been doing these early runs a few times a week since last fall and so most of them have been in the winter months when there is no light until I’m nearly done. It’s finally getting light, though, and I’m going to be sad to see the darkness return next week with Daylight Savings Time, even though I know it will return again in full force for summer.

After knocking out 5 miles in colder temps than I would like, a hot shower and bowl of oatmeal were just what I needed.

Mmmm, peanut butter and jelly oatmeal. My favorite breakfast as of late.

* 1/2 C oats and 1 C water
* Topped with a spoonful of peanut butter and a spoonful of jam
